Here is another test filmed today, the Ipod touch LCD screen Vs the i8910 HD. In this video we also see the web browser speed of each phone. The test shows the i8910 Omnia HD screen does better Vs the iphones I think. the white is whiter, when compared to the Ipod touch blueish white. Also the direct sunlight test, shows there isn’t much in it. The phones are about the same in direct sunlight.
Seems the sun problem isn’t a problem anymore! =-) It’s getting better every day.
Yep, I think its better (only slighty) than the iphone 🙂 iphone will be forced to release an AMOLED iphone 2 now.
With the past few days being very sunny here in the UK, i have had problems seeing my screen in the sun.
Well at least there is only sun like that for a few weeks in the UK per year lol!
Yeah neil i agree, ine has been very bad, videos dont look too good in the sun either!
isn’t iphone….it’s ipod touch 1st generation….adjust title of topic please 😉
Thanks, sorry. Corrected!
What was the iPod brightness at?
50%? What about the Omnia HD?
Was the Auto brightness on? I remember the iPod being decent in sunlight (I have one myself), and from what I’ve read from MULTIPLE reviews, the Omnia HD is NOT great at all under sunlight. I have trouble believing that the two are equals udner sunlight….
NOT FAIR Comparison.
1. SAMSUNG i8910 has some screen protector applied –> that does not help. Original (clean) screen, cleaned is much more visible under sun.
2. With auto brightness –> very good in sun. With 50% no way you see anything.
3. iPhone 3GS –> moe visible, but have you checked the colours? Is BLUE/White a proof that it looks better? A resistive + 100% lamps will have better luminosity than AMOLED, but it will NOT look better!
