Samsung i8910 Omnia HD Firmware I8910XEIF4
Thanks to our forum member Pavel, we now have the latest i8910 firmware files available in our forum. The latest is I8910XEIF4, although this is Russian Generic firmware. It does support English and is unbranded (No operator logos or customisation). We also have Spanish firmware available now for any users after Spanish on their i8910 HD. (By the way these are free and not from paid firmware sites)
I’ve flashed I8910XEIF4 can report the following changes:

Can we/should we do this update if we have Orange phones that aren’t de branded?

I have only a Windows VISTA 64 PC and a iMac with Parallels (and windows XP32 within) can i use one of these for the flashing tool?
Which one do we use for debranding to UK English.
Which one do we use for debranding to official UK English. I’m willing to wait if its not going to be released yet.
There is NO UK version yet. These will de-brand your phone then you can change the language. I done mine with polish firmware and it is fantastic now its de-branded!
You need windows XP to debrand / flash your phone. I will post a tutorial on how to do this soon.
The music pausing while a data connection is established bug is finally gone
to all who want to debrand make sure you download and keep a copy of the orange firmware just in case. Cos i had battery problems after debrand and i got the phone orange branded again with the orange firmware. Managed to take the phone back to the store and get a replacement handset with another 28 days cover
According to this italian website, there will be 2 official firmware updates. The first will be release next week and will enhance general performance and batery life. The second will be released one week later and fixes the codec problem

One app in Russian, thats the Samsung Fun club. Thats about it, oh apart from a few widgets which I don’t use anyway!
FARUK….which version of the Orange firmware did you flash back to…?
The one that came with mine was IE2, if I remember correctly. The one in Pavels link is newer than what I had….

moggsy. Sorry for late reply i used the same orange firmware you are describing. The phone was running quite smoothly with this firmware as well. Good luck mate
when i took my phone back the nice people at the orange store did not believe i had a battery problem. Tell them the battery is not lasting more than 6 hours but when they phoned customer services they were ok with it and gave me a new handset. They did not check the firmware or anything.cos everything was orange branded anyway.
most of the download links in the bookmarks section have all got russian links and open up in russian
the navigator app is in russian aswell.
Does anyone know how to get the Facebook community thing working? After you take a picture/video, you can upload to the web and select Facebook. But my phone asks for ID & Password every time – then does nothing. If I try again, it asks for the ID & Password again. Debranded…don’t think Orange allows it on their firmware
Russian firmware has increased my battery life by 200%, at least! That’s with Road Sync running all day long!
i had probs with my i8910 with wmp info files carnt get rid of the bloody things what so ever lol so i debranded it and bob ya uncule there still thereso if any 1 has got a clue on how to get rid of them plz let me know asap plz but must admit the fone is running alot quicker with the flash software plus there a lot more stuff on it witch orange have taken of god knows why idiots and if any 1 wants the flash software then email me and ill send it ya free of charge drebins2003@hotmail.com.not like every 1 else tryin to make a quick buck

I don’t understand something here, As far as I can see local symbian developers are fixing couple of bugs and they are publishing new firmwares themselves. You guys all install those firmwares right? I am a programmer as well… let me tell you something…
How do you know that local developer put a kind of Trojan in the firmware and all people that installs that gets infected? For ex, how would you know when you logon your email password from your phone that also send info to his account from backround ?? Same for anything could be done, he can get who did you sent text messages to ? Who did you call? Which website did you visit? how many people in your contact list, who did you speak when where? where are you know? He can get millions of information by the firmwares you guys installing without thinking!!!
If all those firmwares are NOT offical DO NOT USE IT!!!
that is a good queistion if peeps have debranded there fone thinking that it will sort out the probs of wmp info files and makeing the fone run quicker and faster it dosent at all i got a few extra widgets but thats about it nothing specail at all and i rang samsung today to find out if they any updates planed and the bloke said no updates as yet wish they wud pull there finger out and get a move on .and dose any 1 now of software i can put on my fone to protect it from viruis ect and free ofcourse lol???????????
just one other thing if peeps have debranded there fones is there a firmware that you can put bak onto ya fone to make it orange again??????????????????????
Hi I flashed my Orange i8910 to the russian firmware not a problem using 1.50 however been looking at the latest firmware for the phone as per your links to the Italian Firmware, flashed that as well no problems, but I couldnt but notice that the Device Manager you have a screen dump up at the top of the screen says 19/06/2009 well today is only the 17th “Time Travel!!! ”

Silly me was late last night and looking at wrong month
Can anybody help! I flashed my phone and it all went ok until the image of a phone, exclamation mark and a computer appeared and wont go off. I have tried turning it off and entering the blue screen mode but nothing works. All i get when i turn it on is the same image of the phone, exclamation mark and the computer. I need help please. How can i fix it??????
if you have a german phone and use the latest german samsung PC suite to check for new firmware, it will just tell you the phone is fully up to date.
If however, you download the swiss version of the PC suite from Samsung’s site, which is a newer version, it will find the update mentioned in this article and install it on the phone for you automatically.
Too bad it won’t do the G2 version, at least not if your firmware is the german version.
I hope Samsung gets their act together soon and makes the G2 firmware available over the updater, as having to send the phone to a Samsung Service Center for 2 weeks is just ridiculous.
@ Online1 . its generally a useful warning, but the way you’re shouting and crying about it as if the world is going to end makes me wonder if you’re a Samsung hack, just trying to keep people from taking control over their phones.
i brought my omnia hd from ebay india,imported from uk.i think it was an orange locked fone but i got an unloked orange fone.my airtel sim .gprs and wap are working in that phone.but when i tried to update the softawre throo pc studeo i cant update it.update manager is not working.what i hav to do to update software.pls help

Dan, got it sorted Your ID & Password is your Facebook ID NUMBER…not email address. To get your Facebook ID number, go to your profile, the number should be in there – password is obviously your password. Then it should let you upload no problem. Works for me
