Opera software have recently released Opera 10 Mobile beta, this new refreshed browser is very slick and smooth. Compared to the buggy Opera Mini 9 this is leagues ahead. And running Opera 10 on my i8190 is just a breeze, infact it makes the built in default symbian browser obsolete. This is a must for all i8910 owners that want the best internet browser possible for their phone. And this is really it.
It runs much faster I think on our i8910′s than the demo’s N97….
Download it here: Opera 10 for Symbian

Fantastic piece of software. Shows what you can do with the i8910! Brilliant

I agree. The only downside is the size of the onscreen keyboard. For people like me with fat fingers it can be a little fidgety to use, especially after being used to the huge keyboard on my i8910.

Snowy, you can turn the on screen keyboard off, and use the default keyboard of i8910. Just disable Inline Editing in Advance Option.

Nice one Emino. thanks for that!

One word… Wow. I’ve had the i8910 since its first release, and never has a piece of software captured all that makes my i8910 brilliant. The Opera 10 Mobile edition is the best mobile web browser. Don’t be suprised to hear my PC is opera also hehe.

Hi b@st3,
to fix this open real player and go to the streaming links option and ensure that your network internet settings option (WAP) is selected. Then try again, it should work – does fine for me. Good Luck

This app is absolutely amazing.

I’ve been using it for a while now and its great! had a small problem with youtube but i ended up using the free youtube app which works really well…
very stable, kinetic scrolling and multiple tabs… lovelly!
You can create a shortcut on your homescreen (finger use) under the setting menu.
November 15, 2009 at 4:21 am
Setting menu? I can’t see it.
November 15, 2009 at 4:49 pm
settings – personal – home screen – shortcuts… choose one of the four slots for opera and it will appear on your homescreen…
May 9, 2010 at 4:29 am
i dont have any slots to put a shortcut in, mine says ” no editable shortcuts in selected theme “, and im using the standard theme that came with the phone , any ideas

Somehow Opera is not working properly on my i8910.
When accessing a site, it asks to select and open a internet-connection (standard symbian dialogue). If i choose a WLAN-Connection, the connection is not established and i’m unable to establish this connection until i restart the phone.
If i choose the UMTS-Connection, the connection is established but opera does not load any site.
Symbian Browser is working fine!
Any ideas?
Thanks

Nice piece of software, but it keeps freezing all the time. This makes it unusable. Anybody else having problems?
November 28, 2009 at 7:23 am
Whilst baring in mind that this is just a beta:
I sometimes get “bad gateway errors” when navigating to a new web page. The browser is good though. I much prefer to use it to the default symbian browser.
It is a shame the that it doesnt have full flash support but I expect it will with the full release. Does anyone know how to set it to the default browser so that it is lauched automatically by other applications that require a web interface?
November 29, 2009 at 10:41 am
Yeah Sander. Whenever I try to update something on facebook it freezes then shuts down completely. I then have to reopen Opera and login all over again. Although browsing is great, If I want to do anyything I still have to go in through the default browser.
November 28, 2009 at 7:24 am
oh yeah i havent experienced any freezing problems….

Hi all, opera 10 is a useful web browser but some functions are missing or need to be tweaked: the first one is about FLASH PLAYER, now almost any website has it!!!!!! Default browser cannot play FLASH 9 videos…so it’s limited to old sites.
Second one is about speed: WLAN connection works but it is really slow!!! (my D-LINK WLAN IS b/g/n compatible and works fine with desktop pc)
Fortunately this is a beta….hope they can add FLASH 9 support in full version….PLEASE!

I updated to Beta2 because I wanted to be able to synchronize my bookmarks with my Opera 10 pc.
It should be possible with the latest Beta2.
But unfortunately it doesn’t work
If I tap on the synchronize in the settings menu and have logged in to my account, I get the error message: Parser failed….
So no synchronization ’till yet.
Also the option to have inline editing misses in this Beta2 version which is a big missing!!
Therefore I went back to the Beta1 as the most important features fail in the Beta2
I hope Opera will fix these issues in their next version

Can I change my mobile default browser to Opera Mobile 10 for my i8910? Is there a hack for that? Thanks
December 15, 2009 at 1:35 pm
No you can’t (yet)
But you could use Handy Shell, which has a homescreen you can customize with more shortcuts.
http://samsung-omnia-hd-software.epocware.com/index.html
I use it since the i8910 was released last May and it works great (in combination with Handy Weather)
Perhaps HyperX will add Opera Mobile to one of his future custom roms – if it’s possible – and once Opera had released the final version
December 16, 2009 at 8:54 pm
Yes uh its sure runs Faster, but it still has Flaws that makes the whole s*** obsolete. its only good if you use it to browse porn or something like that.. but if you like to watch videos from youtube then DONT bother, because it WILL not show em. time will show how these ever will work on phones nor anything else than pc.
December 29, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Opera Mobile 10 at least better mobile browser alternative. Everything looks fine except for flash contents like youtube. I downloaded separate youtube free app instead and it’s ok with me.

Hi, i just installed this on mt Samsung HD, i am liking it so far, my first question, i accidently assigned wikipedia twice on my Speed Dial page, how can i delete the extra one? Would appreciate it heaps. Thanks
December 31, 2009 at 11:38 am
Keep your finger a second on the speed dial thumbnail you want to remove/change and a pop-up will be shown.
Make your choice from there
Have a good start in 2010, Kathleen

Hello
I’ve a question about the installation of Opera Mobile 10 on i8910.
When I tried to install the file, it says “Certifcate Error. Please Contact the supplier.”
How can I solve this problem?
I appreciate all answers.
Thank you.

Is it just my phone or can you only use Opera Mobile 10 when you connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot? Every time I try to do it through Orange World or Orange GPRS Wap, I get an error message
January 12, 2010 at 6:09 pm
Maybe it’s just me but when I installed this beta version my phone stopped working completely full of bugs.
It was so bad I had to ask Orange to replace it. I will therefore wait until a finished version is released.
Also Firefox mobile should be available as we speak so it’s worth checking it out.

Opera 10 Mobile Beta 2 is a great browser, but how to keep it as the default phone browser ? When I receive a web link in twitter or email, it launches the phone’s default one and I would like it to be Opera.
February 2, 2010 at 10:13 am
I would also like to keep it as the default phone browser. Any ideas? On another point I’ve now got it streaming to my wi fi network and hooked it up to the PS3. Pics, vids and music on the TV. But HD streaming doesn’t work.
