Comments on: Samsung i8910 Omnia HD Custom Firmware / Cooked Roms

Hello guys…

My friend had a samsung i8910 hd with old firmware but when i told him about new roms , he asked me to install one in his phone….so he gave it to me…

Error started as follows::::

1. First symbian rom flashing tool started showing error after downloading was started in download status area that it is unable to write data via usb..

2. After sometime in connection and progress area, i see fail after downloading to modem was finished..

3. For several hours phone got connected but nothing happened..

So i removed the phone and restart the phone but it wont start and i just see the light on the screen….

Help me guys…plz….. I m very poor…i cannot buy him a new one …

So plz… Help……….

just a few experiewnces when i updated the Firmware.
i had a phone 8910 running HX2.0 (hyperx ) and went on to update the latest release xxxx1bJ, all went right but the phone just refused to start ,,,and used to hang at th ” I8910 HD ” display.
i dint know what 2 do but i flashed maybe 100 times …downloading all possible version….finally i ticked alllthe options..in the syb 1.5 ( including boot modem , etc etc) and loo the Phone booted up …But bbb..BUT it was NETWORK locked,,,,,i dont know how it happened but,,,again i used http://www.fastgsm.com online unlocking .it cost me $19.99 with the HpexX 4.0 ver .

God i had enoough experience….b/c i had even consulted some local techs even they could not understand why the phone wouldnt booot….But i think i hav some observations..
1) maybe my phone was network locked and unlocked and flashed with the cooked ROM HX2.0
2) something in the Original soft causes a conflict with the unlocking method…
3) otherwise i have flashed maybe 100 times using all kinds of software version / lang…even tried hyperx 4.0 too ( that time i hadnt ticked the modem /imie reset options in the sym soft ( hyperx works auto mode u cannot select options)

but now the phone is working and that is it…a small advice….IF ur phone works nice dont go to flash it ….u may end up expiriencing what i did !!!

I have an omnia hd and I am very intrigued by this website I discovered (the one I am commenting on). two questions

If I do not like the custom firmware, would I be able to go back?

and…would the music player not play in the background since task manager would be gone?
